Lore & Background

Terra is the younger sister of Brion Markov, the prince of Markovia, and possesses the ability to control earth and stone. She was recruited by Deathstroke to infiltrate the Team as a mole for the Light, feigning vulnerability to gain their trust. Her betrayal during the assault on the Reach's base led to the capture of several heroes and the death of Wally West, cementing her as one of the most devastating turncoats in the series.

In Their Own Story

The cave walls trembled as Terra stood before the Team, her eyes glistening with false tears. 'I just want to help,' she whispered, and they believed her. But when the moment came, her smile was cold as she sealed the entrance, trapping them with the enemy. Later, alone in the dark, she felt the earth pulse beneath her fingers—a reminder of the power she'd used to destroy the only friends she'd ever had.

Reader's Guide

Tara Markov serves as a primary antagonist in season 2, her betrayal fracturing the Team's trust and leading to a major loss. Her origin reveals she was a runaway from Markovia, taken in by Deathstroke and trained as an assassin. Key relationships include her brother Brion (Geo-Force), whom she abandoned, and her mentor Deathstroke, who manipulated her. Her geokinesis allows her to manipulate earth, rock, and lava, making her a formidable combatant. Her arc culminates in her death during the final battle against the Reach, where she sacrifices herself to save the Team, hinting at a possible redemption. She first appears in 'Depths' and is unmasked as a traitor in 'Summit.'
