Brion Markov

A prince who would burn his kingdom to save it—and rule over the ashes.

Brion Markov, also known as Geo-Force, is a powerful metahuman prince from the Balkan nation of Markovia. Introduced in the third season of Young Justice, he emerges as a central figure in the Outsiders, a team formed to bring metahuman trafficking and global injustices to light. Lore & Background

Brion Markov is the younger brother of Prince Gregor Markov and the nephew of Baron Bedlam. Born with the metahuman ability to manipulate the Earth's tectonic plates, he can create earthquakes, control lava, and shape stone. His powers were suppressed by his uncle, who feared his potential, until the metahuman trafficking ring known as the Light sought to exploit him. Rescued by the Team, Brion joins the Outsiders to fight for justice and free Markovia from his uncle's tyranny.

In Their Own Story

The ground trembled beneath Brion's boots as he stood before the throne room doors. Behind him, the Outsiders waited, their breath misting in the cold air. He could feel the stone walls pulse with his heartbeat, every fault line in the castle singing to his blood. 'No more cages,' he whispered, and the earth answered. The doors shattered inward, and Brion Markov stepped into his future—a king forged in fire and grief. But as the dust settled and the cheers of his people faded, he realized the throne felt less like a victory and more like a tomb. Every crack in the marble floor was a reminder of the brother he had lost, the sister who had betrayed him, and the blood he was willing to spill to keep his crown.

Reader's Guide

Brion Markov serves as the emotional core of the Outsiders, a team formed to combat metahuman trafficking and operate publicly as heroes. His origin begins when he is rescued from Baron Bedlam's clutches by the Team, revealing his royal status and his devastating geo-kinetic powers. Key relationships include his sister Tara, who betrays him due to her own trauma, and his romance with Violet Harper (Halo), which ends tragically. His signature abilities—earthquake generation, lava manipulation, and flight via stone platforms—make him a powerhouse. Across the season, Brion's arc shifts from idealistic hero to a ruler willing to kill his uncle and later ally with the Light to protect Markovia, culminating in his controversial coronation and moral fall.
